Welcome to Elmhurst's AIG Page. Thanks for stopping by!
Greetings: We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and growth. As an AIG teacher, I am honored to work with my students and cultivate their gifts. As a former art teacher, I am particularly interested in fostering all gifts through the conduit of creativity.
This websites is a great public space for me to showcase my students hard work and keep parents up to speed with what is going on in the classroom. "Since new developments are the products of a creative mind, we must therefore stimulate and encourage that type of mind in every way possible." George Washington Carver North Carolina's definition of Giftedness:“The General Assembly believes the public schools should challenge all students to aim for academic excellence and that academically or intellectually gifted students perform or show the potential to perform at substantially high levels of accomplishment when compared to others of their age, experience and environment. Academically or intellectually gifted students exhibit high performance capability in intellectual areas, specific academic fields, or in both intellectual areas and specific academic fields. Academically or intellectually gifted students require differentiated educational services beyond those ordinarily provided by the regular educational program. Outstanding abilities are present in students from all cultural groups, across all economic strata, and in all areas of human endeavor.”
