A boy named Matt has his family go away while he tries to brave the forest. Fortunately, there are two Indians by his side when they encounter many dangers along the way including a bear, a fox with his foreleg in a trap, and even their own dog caught in a Turtle Clan trap! They go on tons of awesome adventures while exploring the Indian wilderness with beavers, rabbits, fish, and bear cubs. Oh my! They even try to survive in their own house by hunting and killing animals, making a fire, and more!

I think that "Never doubt something that you don't know" is the moral of the story because when Matt's father left Matt never doubted that his father would be back with his family.
I think that “never give up” is the moral of the story because when Matt’ s father left he never gave up, and he still never gave up when Attean left to go hunt for moose and never came back.
I think that “friendship” is a part of a moral of the story because Attean and Matt become friends.
